Founding-team member - Focus Technology

Our client is a groundbreaking joint venture between an innovative cleantech company and a global leader in building materials.

The goal is to revolutionize cement production by eliminating harmful emissions and adopting renewable energy sources year-round. Central to this mission is a game-changing technology, harnessing the power of the sun to generate high temperature heat and pyroprocessing. This innovation not only enables the de-fossilization of the industrial sector but also includes a unique capability towards a Net Zero industry.

In this position, you will play a pivotal role in driving our company's vision to transform cement production through the integration of Concentrated Solar Power technology. Leveraging pilot successes, your responsibility will be to lead the R&D efforts, taking the technology from its current stage to industrial demonstrators and semi-industrial pilots.

Responsibilities

Lead the technology development and implementation of pyroprocessing by integration of high temperature renewable heat
Establish and implement integartion strategy
Drive ongoing R&D initiatives, ensuring continuous innovation
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address technical challenges
Direct the planning and execution of pilot-scale projects - from conceptualization, system engineering to implementation
Ensure projects meet quality, timeline and budgetary expectations
Stay abreast of industry regulations and standards

Profile

Ph.D. or advanced degree in Mechanical or Thermal Engineering, Chemical Engineering or a related field
Proven track record in technology development in the energy or industrial sector
Experience with high temperature industrial processes and their energetic aspects is a must
Knowledge in heat integration in industrial processes
Entrepreneurial mindset and ability to drive innovation and bring novel technologies to market
Comfortable working in a dynamic entrepreneurial environment and navigating ambiguity
Excellent communication and networking skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences
