Coopers Offers the Best Work-Life-Balance in Switzerland According to Kununu

27. March 2019

Hooray, Coopers made it to the winner's rostrum – placing first, even! Coopers offers employees the best work-life-balance in Switzerland according to a survey conducted by Kununu. We reached 4,97 of 5,0 points in this category. Kununu is Europe's biggest platform to rate employers. Said ranking included all Swiss companies with more than 33 ratings (at least one within the last six months.)

We are genuinely excited about this great score, as we truly care about the well-being of our employees. In our view, this includes the very mentioned balance of work and private life. To ensure this, we offer our employees a flexible and need-oriented work environment. Without much bureaucracy, every member of the Coopers family gets to make one's own hours, in the office as well as in the home office. We trust each other and are incredibly proud of our team spirit, which keeps motivating us to our peak.

It is great to see that our employees actually perceive our efforts so positively. Our heartfelt thanks to all our colleagues and the whole Coopers network.

Work-life-balance gains in importance and with it the need for flexibility at work. The Generation Y, i.e. all those born between roughly 1980 and 1995, is establishing a new value system in the working world: time is the new status symbol, not the company car. Time to oneself, time for family, time for hobbies. Free time, simply. As hard as that might be for some employers, they are well-advised to take these changing needs seriously. As business psychologist Prof. Dr. Ingo Markgraf emphasizes in his eloquent letter to the Generation Y, they will be much needed in the professional world. But no need to worry, Generation Y employees are neither lazy nor reluctant towards working, they just want to do it in a self-determined way. Try to see the bright side: self-determined actions are intrinsically motivated. This, in turn, leads to more effective and productive actions. Dare to stray from rigid and overly regulated work specifications – we at Coopers can confirm that it can result in something great.
