Coopers Team Event in Stoos
Business, Hiking & Quality Time in the Swiss Mountains
from Dr. Elena D’Cruz
31. August 2023
The Coopers Family headed for the mountains last week. Let’s take you with us on our adventure in the Swiss Alps, namely to the charming village of Stoos. No cars, no stress, simply the sound of cowbells, a stunning panorama and lots of time for inspiration, growth, and teambuilding.
Willkommä ufem Stoos: Coopers at 1’300 Meters Above Sea Level
Arriving in Schwyz, a unique experience awaited us: a ride in the world’s steepest funicular that brought us up to 1’300 meters above sea level. We settled-in at the Stoos Lodge*, a down-to-earth yet modern hotel amidst the Schwyz’s breathtaking landscape.
Over the course of two days, we held our monthly team meeting, listened to guest speaker Josef Frischeisen, built towers out of marshmallows, tape, and dry spaghetti (or tried to, at least), and went on a stunning ridge hike to the Fronalpstock (surprisingly fit after a not-so-surprisingly fun evening).
Day 1: Team Meeting, Guets Speaker & Team Challenge
On day one, we have dived right into business topics that are always discussed during our monthly team meeting. Sitting in the spacious Panorama Hall, it was remarkable to see just how big the Coopers Family grew – an astonishing sight especially for Christian and Denise, who founded Coopers 13 years ago.
After lunch we welcomed guest speaker Josef Frischeisen, who is a lecturer at the University of St.Gallen and a senior speaker for Jenewein AG. He has evoked valuable models, such as the Eisenhower Principle, a timeless strategy on how to allocate our resources efficiently. We talked about the value of a growth versus a fixed mindset and the importance of culture, especially for a growing company like Coopers. Reflecting on this session, we are grateful, encouraged, and proud of our Coopers (team) Spirit. We really do feel in good company with each other – and that is how we are able to authentically share that with everyone outside our organization, too.
Our teamwork was also called for during the team challenges in the afternoon. Some images during pantomimes are forever burned into our memories, but in a good way, of course. We rounded off the intense day with a nice dinner at the Stoos Lodge and some drinks at the Stoos Sports Bar – shoutout and thanks to Michi, who opened his bar just for us that day; it was a night to remember.
Day 2: Team Hike & Farewell
For many, the ridge hike from Klingenstock to Fronalpstock was a highlight. We got lucky with the weather and the sheer beauty of nature left us in awe: The hike offers a unique view of over 10 Swiss lakes, including Lake Lucerne, and many Alpine peaks. But most importantly, we pulled through as a team! Some faster, some slower, we all met for lunch at the Gipfelrestaurant Fronalpstock. With clouds and thunder rolling in, we quickly took the gondola and made it safely down the mountain. After lots of hugs, warm wishes and with happy (yet tired) faces, we made our ways home.
Spending time together, growing together and making memories together is the best investment one can make in their team (or any social relationship for that matter). We are all so grateful for this unforgettable experience and would like to say thank you to Christian and Denise for inviting us. THANK YOU.

Here is what our Coopers think about the Team Event
Kitti Dobos
"The whole Coopers Family was finally together again for a longer time. No time pressure, but time for each other in beautiful surroundings. When I think of Stoos, the endless green mountain ridges come to mind during the great hike. And the new Coopers gadgets, the gifts, were a really nice surprise."
Robert Stanislawek
"My highlight was seeing all the people again. I am proud to be able to work with such great folks. Also cool were the games on Thursday afternoon and, of course, the beautiful views on Friday during the hike."
Giulia Viadana
"What I really loved about Stoos, besides the amazing location, was the atmosphere around all of us. I felt like I was in the right place and with the right people. I will never forget the pantomime challenge, seeing everybody so involved and committed was priceless! I am still laughing! – I am so lucky to be part of the Coopers Family."
Sandra Riccardi
"The ridge hike was a unique experience and I am so glad I got to experience and share that with Coopers. It is so cool what a diverse group of personalities we are. Also, the thought of pantomime still brings a smile to my face."
Mark Thommen
"My highlights were games in the Team Challenge (especially pantomime), the evening at the Sports Bar, and the hike there because Denise led us through a huge detour."
Linda Eggimann
"My lasting memories will certainly be of the fun evening in the bar, the wonderful view, the Stoos train (which really impressed me from a technical point of view), and generally the great time I had with all my colleagues. I had so much fun with pantomime and many great conversations with my colleagues. The hike prompted me, in the spirit of growth mindset, to work on my physical condition again; a fitness slot is booked."
Florence Wespiser
"It was super nice to finally have time as a team again. We had so much fun, for example during the team challenges, and were able to strengthen our bond even more. You could also notice that during the fantastic hike, where we always all stayed together, even when it got hard. We are proud of that now, happy and can smile because it brought us closer together."
