Contracting as Successful Partnership

All about contracting at Coopers

18. September 2024
A business man and woman give each other a high-five and laugh.

It all started with contracting: It is our core business, our passion, our foundation. In a traditional contracting arrangement, three parties are involved: the employee, the client, and we as agency. If the customer requires a specialist on a temporary basis, we employ this person – with all the rights and obligations of an employer – and deploy them at the customer's premises.

We aim to build a partnership with our customers. This partnership can be structured flexibly to suit their needs. Some customers engage us on a regular basis. But we also have clients, who come to us once a year and only need support for a few days. We are able to accommodate both types of customer. We do not limit ourselves to a minimum contract term and see just as much value in this selective support as we do in working together in a "preferred supplier" construct.

Communication and Trust: Fundament for a Partnership

There are numerous benefits to being listed as a preferred supplier with a company, but there are also certain obligations that come with this status. Within the scope of our specializations – which include IT, engineering, life sciences, and finance – we receive requests from clients and introduce external employees, i.e. candidates, including database administrators, automation engineers, AI prompt specialists, and other roles. An important benefit here: We operate under a framework agreement. This framework agreement regulates all processes in detail, specifies framework conditions, and provides comprehensive coverage for all eventualities. This gives us safety and the space we require to focus on our primary objective: sourcing.

Frequent customer inquiries lead to frequent communication. As a consequence, we get to know each other, we understand each other, and we are better coordinated. This enables us to deliver precisely matching candidate profiles, and the partnership between Coopers Group, the client, and the candidate is not only a long-lasting but also an optimized one.

In a mutually beneficial relationship, all parties contribute their respective know-how. The client knows the specialists they need. Applicants know their own skill sets and abilities. Furthermore, Coopers has in-depth knowledge of the market, legislation, trends, potential pitfalls, and opportunities. In summary, we facilitate a collaborative environment where all parties can operate effectively.

The Human Angle: Our External Workforce Matters

Our external employees, i.e. our project specialist, are at the heart of our contracting operations. They are the individuals with the required skills and the interest to showcase their capabilities on customer assignments. How can we provide assistance here? In addition to offering a range of project management, customer relationship, market knowledge, and deployment options, we happily provide comprehensive training, educational resources, and a clear understanding of rights and obligations as an employer. In summary, we provide comprehensive support to facilitate the advancement of our external specialists.

We are happy to answer your questions on contracting and on potential partnerships between the Coopers Group and your company – and, of course, questions on everything Coopers has to offer as an employer. Either give us a call (+41 41 632 43 50) or e-mail us at office@coopers.ch.

We look forward to hearing from you!
