For our pharmaceutical client in Valais, we are looking for a Project Procurement Lead (m/f/d) who holds strategic responsibility for procurement in construction of manufacturing, laboratory & office facilities projects in that budget range. In this role you will manage the procurement activities for assigned investment projects and coordinates their planning and execution onsite and, if required, at other locations of the company.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Development of Procurement Execution Strategy and coordination of procurement activities for assigned investment projects
  • End-to-end commercial ownership of procurement, expediting, contract management & closeout of contracts for
    • Goods such as: Process equipment, electrical equipment, AHU’s, black utilities pumps & valves, lab equipment, furniture, consumables, pumps & automation systems and spare parts for above
    • Services such as: Construction, piping, HVAC, electrical & cleanroom fit-out, consulting, engineering and planning
  • Active management of the Procurement Master Plan (PMP) during project execution to ensure timely project reporting, identification and mitigation of risks
  • Close collaboration with a multitude of stakeholders such as:
    • Project procurement team including other buyers, order managers and contract managers
    • Companies procurement management and category management
    • Project or Program Director or Managers, engineers and subject matter experts dedicated to projects
    • Support functions like Quality, EHS, Legal, Finance, HR etc.
    • Key third party collaborators including EPCM, EPC, main trade or equipment suppliers

Your Requirements:

  • Technical training (ETH or FH) or similar in process, chemical, mechanical, civil or plant engineering 
  • 10 years experience of Capex project/ procurement management within pharma/ biotech sector
  • Experience in plant construction as well as in the areas of procurement, sales and contract management
  • Advanced english language skills, additional german skills are an advantage 
  • Team player with ability to work efficiently in matrix organizations and interdisciplinary teams
  • Excellent business mindset, analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Initiative and resilience – ability to work in an exciting, ever changing environment
