The Right Office Food
We all know that we should eat five portions of fruit and veg a day, right? But do we really do it? Every day? In the office? Maybe we don't know what food is best for our brain or what an ideal snack is. In this weeks Coopers blog post we want to give you some tips and ideas all around eating in the office.
There is one thing that is more important than eating healthy food and that is drinking a lot. Fluid ensures that your head and body receive enough oxygen and are well supplied with blood. Ideally you should drink two to three litres of water or tee a day. If you start getting a headache or tired or have difficulty concentrating, get yourself a glass of water. Why not have a bottle of water on your desk?
Nuts and berries are great snacks for the office because they are full of protein. Nuts have lots of B-vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. Cashew nuts and Brazil nuts contain a lot of magnesium which the body needs, when working under pressure.
Sweets and anything that contains glucose are not ideal snacks for the office. They do increase your productivity for about 20 minutes, but after this you will feel even more tired than before.
What also has an impact on your digestion is when and where you eat. If you usually leave the house without breakfast, why not set your alarm clock a bit earlier so you have time for a leisurely breakfast? An ideal breakfast would be cereals, fruit or a piece of whole-grain bread with a cup of tea. That is a much more relaxing and stress-free way to start the day!
At lunch, it is better to leave your desk, even if it is only for a short time. Lots of carbs (for example pasta) will make it difficult for you to concentrate in the afternoon. A soup or a salad would be a better choice.
At Coopers there is nobody who eats at their desk on their own, we usually all meet to have lunch in the kitchen together. And of course, our team members value a healthy diet. Our customers can count on us being fit to deliver a top performance at all times!
