Bioprocess Engineer

Duration of contract: 30.06.2025

Your responsibilities

  • Develop and optimize upstream and/or downstream bioprocesses for the production of therapeutic proteins, vaccines, and other biologics.
  • Design and execute experiments for process development, including cell culture, fermentation, purification, and formulation.
  • Scale-up bioprocesses from laboratory to pilot and production scales, ensuring consistency and quality.
  • Implement process control strategies and perform troubleshooting to ensure process robustness and product quality.
  • Collaborate with R&D, quality, and manufacturing teams to transfer processes to GMP manufacturing.
  • Conduct process validation and support regulatory submissions with thorough documentation and data analysis.
  • Monitor and analyze process performance data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Prepare and present technical reports, protocols, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

 

Your background

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Biotechnology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in bioprocess development and scale-up in the biopharmaceutical industry.
  • Strong understanding of cell culture, fermentation, purification, and analytical techniques.
  • Experience with bioreactor operation, process control, and automation.
  • Knowledge of GMP regulations and experience in a regulated environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex bioprocessing issues.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Proficiency in data analysis software and statistical tools.
